Michael Myers Halloween Costume

Halloween is coming soon so I guess some of you are thinking of dressing up as Michael Myers and why not? Michael Myers is one of the most iconic horror movie characters of all time and it is said that the original 1978 Halloween movie featuring Michael inspired a host of other slasher movies that continue to be churned out to this day. The good news is that it is reasonably easy to dress up as Michael and here is a guide to an awesome Michael Myers Halloween costume.

First of all, you need the mask. What many people don’t know is that the original Michael Myers mask was actually made from a cast of William Shatner’s face and painted white. This mask was originally used in the 1975 horror film The Devil’s Rain.

There are several masks available on Amazon.com but this one seems to be officially licensed. Sculpted Justin Mabry, this is an exact replica of the mask used by Michael Myers in the 1978 film.

With a mask like this, you could just stop there and everybody would understand that you are Michael Myers but I wouldn’t stop there. You don’t want to just be the guy with the Michael Myers mask. You want to be Michael Myers. So you need the clothes. Michael wears navy coveralls/overalls and you can get sweet Dickies coveralls from Amazon, too.

And of course, to complete your Michael Myers costume, you will want a machete. I don’t recommend carrying a real one but there are plenty of replicas to choose from on Amazon, like this one with blood already on it.
